She and her family moved from Point Pleasant, New Jersey when she was six. Red Bank Catholic High School is where she received her formal education within New Jersey. Her education continued in Catholic University where she earned the degree of bachelor of architecture. Additionally, she began playing the violin at the age of four and was known as the Violin Girl. Her name was often used to refer to her nickname due to her performance. The children of her neighborhood were instructed to play the violin through her. The show's sixth season, American Idol, she sang Free in the year 1976, when she was just nineteen. The show eliminated her after the 16th rank.
